my Wreck-It Ralph collection!

hello everyone! a few of my friends on twitter said i should do a blog post about my wreck-it ralph collection. it's really small right now and i hope to get more cute stuff for it in the future as availability of it grows. i got all these items for christmas and the movie had only been out for under a couple months at the time, so there wasn't a lot of merchandise available. i got all these from the small section for WIR on the disney website with rewards points my grandma gave me for christmas (which means it was free for both of us, yay)!

i've talked about how much i love this movie and recommended it to lolitas as well as picked the DVD as one of my favorite march items, so you know i love this movie. it is seriously one of my favorite films, so naturally, i had to start a collection of memorabilia! 

i love my vanellope shirt the most! i used it in a fairy-kei outfit before, though i haven't worn that outfit yet because of cold weather. i love how the print looks like she's a felt cutout, the melty letters, and the art style! it's all so cute and perfect.

 

the disney site has all the sugar rush characters as "racer" figurines, which is a set with a small figure of the character and a car of theirs you launch using a key shaped like the coins from sugar rush. they have all the sugar rush characters, even king candy! they were $9 each when i got them, but it seems like they're on sale now for only $6. the quality is pretty good, so i would definitely take the chance to get your favorite character!

 

not the best or most detailed paint job on vanellope, but she is still very cute.

i think they put all the budget of the paint job unto the cars, because wow!! it looks just like her car, sprinkles, glitter, and all. it's just like hers. the only thing different was that it wasn't signed by her and ralph, but i think that would be too small to be legible on a little toy like this.

i haven't opened it because the packaging is so cute. i'm in a terrible internal turmoil about it.

 these wreck-it ralph totes are pretty simple and nice!  they have one side with this design, another side that is blue with a pocket (the side pictured). and what's so cool is when you fill up the bag and you can see the profile of the bag has pixel art of ralph on it!

 

i got this HUGE coloring book at kmart! it's not huge in terms of pages, but length and width. it's a big book. it came with tons of stickers in the front either in pixel art style or the same style as my vanellope t-shirt!

my brother also got a lot of WIR stuff for christmas, so i took pictures of some of his collection!

 

he has the racers of king candy and rancis flutterbugger!

he got these really cute t-shirts, too. i love the one on the left so much! it was customizable, but we liked the default saying. the right shirt is so cool because it has a fake fix-it felix copyright for 1982 and the little sprite of ralph from when he's leaving pac-man at the beginning of the movie.

he also has a really nice binder and some nicelanders figurines, but i didn't get photos of those.

Favorite Things for Spring~

here are some of my picks for cute springy items i've been loving lately!

1. hello kitty lamb

i got this really cute hello kitty lamb at my local grocery store (marsh) in the beanie babies section! i sat her with me and my mom's little twin stars dolls, because they look so eastery together!

 

 

2. polly pockets

i found some of my old polly pockets! the right one is a knockoff called "DOLLY" but i like it better because it's pink. i'm turning them into necklaces to wear because they are too cute to keep hidden. i would like to collect more if i could find them at my flea market.

3. revlon 089 sunshine sparkle

 i love this shade so much!! i'm betting i'll like the formula since i liked two other revlon polishes i bought. it's so perfect for spring, isn't it? it is a perfect buttery yellow with the slightest white glitter shimmer when the light hits it. i adore it and i can't wait to try it out!

 

4. matryoshka lipgloss

i love this little matryoshka shaped lipgloss i got for christmas. it flips open to reveal a shimmery pink looking lipgloss. on the lips, it doesn't really add any color, but it has a little bit of shine to it. it smells wonderful like strawberries my mom got the honey mint version, and she loves hers as well. we got these from party city!

 

5. revlon colorburst lip butter in 055 "cupcake"

when i saw this in the store, i HAD to get it. the light pastel pink color is just perfect, and it looks beautiful on the lips! 

it's so sparkly. i feel like a magical girl when i'm wearing it, for real. it's got lots of shimmery glitter in it, but as it is a lip butter, it's REALLY moisturizing. it's about as moisturizing as my clinique lip gloss which is supposed to restore badly cracked and chapped lips -- about one or two applications makes my lips extremely soft. it was a little on the pricey side at the grocery store (7.49 USD). it's a dollar cheaper at target.com, but maybe once you get shipping it would end up defeating the purpose.

 

6. crocheted detachable collar

i know i already mentioned it, but I LOVE HOW THIS TURNED OUT. the colors of the yarn are just perfect, and you can't see in the photo but i used a flatback fake pearl button. i can't wait to use this in a bunch of springy fairy kei outfits or with a sweater while it's warming up outside.

 

7. wreck-it ralph dvd 

i already mentioned why lolitas should watch wreck-it ralph, but i can't recommend this movie enough, still. i haven't stopped watching it since i got it! it's so inspiring to me as an artist, a total visual feast, and funny and tearjerking to boot. SHOULDA WON THE OSCAR.

8. nanobots by they might be giants

i love they might be giants' new album so much!! it's got a lot of great songs on it, including a ton of short ones (kind of like "fingertips" from their apollo 18 album, where you were supposed to play the CD on shuffle and get a different experience each time with very short songs playing in a different order around longer songs every time you played the CD). i love "you're on fire", "sleep", "call you mom", "circular karate chop", and "replicant" the most. it's really bouncy, mostly very rockin' but a little bit all over the place in terms of style as they might be giants usually does.

i'm seeing TMBG next week and couldn't be more excited! i really recommend the new album if you like any of their previous work, or are just looking for some fun, smart, happy music.

sweet treats and lolita musings

hey everyone! sorry i havent posted in a while. i've been getting adjusted to my schedule for this semester, and i've had a lot of quizzes and exams already!

i've been trying to get a lot of rest to avoid the terrible flu epidemic here, and i've also been watching breaking bad. i've also been hooked on downton abbey as well, so when i'm not studying i'm sleeping or watching those... (╯3╰)

anyway! i have some outfits to share with you that i'd forgotten to post as OOTDs!!

first up~

the outfit was at christmastime, so i wore this kurisumasu bracelet i made a year ago.

 i made this ring for my store, but i kept it for myself!

 

i made these hit clip earrings for myself, and pinned a wooden cross onto a bow.

both charms here are from kings island.

i will have to do a review of pinkly ever after soon-- they are SO AWESOME. i can't recommend them enough!!

anyway, i've been excited for a lot of stuff in the future right now!! bands i love are being really active, and that always is such good news. my friends harry and the potters are doing a show here on valentines day that i'm really excited for. 

i've also been able to wear my lolita way more often because of my schedule now for class. as soon as it gets warmer, i'll be able to wear it a lot! i feel like i'd love to write about lolita and my experiences with it more, as i love my local community and love to talk about lolita.

i almost want to wear this exact coord again for valentine's day! hehe.

anyway, i will be writing again soon and i will definitely do a review of P.E.A. for you guys!
