i tried incorporating some of the ethereal themes i talked about loving in my last post but in a more gothic way because it was the aesthetic mood i was in at the time! everything was centered around the nasty gal leggings, as i had gotten those for christmas and was so eager to break em out but it hadnt been warm enough yet. i love them and theyre.....totally eye catching.

(plus, if you didn't already know, i cosplay mabel pines from gravity falls and i'm planning to do some kind of mr. pyramid possessed version of mabel cosplay with these!)

March 2013 Indiana Lolita Meetup ミ☆

hey everyone! ♡ how are you all? i have been feeling pretty under the weather but i had my first time organizing a lolita meetup for my group!

 it was a lot of fun, but at first the place we chose, sugar daddy's canceled on us by very rudely yelling at me over the phone when i had already made a reservation... it was awful!

but thankfully, annie had a backup plan and we went to sweet claire's bakery.

they were awesome, accomodated us perfectly and quickly, and had tons of delicious bread and iron pot teas! i got a delicious giant sweet bread with cream cheese and blackberries.

we all chatted about clothes and fandoms while having a delicious little meal.

afterwards, we walked around bloomington and went to the sample gates to take some photos!

everyone in our group is always dressed so cutely!! i loved everyone's outfits. 

i wore my "princess dress" from pinkly ever after. i will have to do a review soon, because her products are amazing and i absolutely love the dress. it is so glittery and tulle-y *o*

after taking our photos and chatting we walked to a chinese restaurant to get some boba/bubble tea!

while we were out and about, we got SO many comments from people. they were all pretty much positive aside from a few creepy guys on the sidewalk on kirkwood. several people asked if we were having a "princess party" and they all wondered what it was for. we always replied "for fun!"

 later on we went into baked, which i had never visited before. you basically pick a dough and a bunch of ingredients and they make cookies for you! they also have milk and stuff, and you get your cookies in a pizza box. they invite you to decorate the boxes and they line the walls (even the ceiling!) with them. i loved seeing all the awesome art.

 i made a box to contribute and i hope to return later to see it hanging up. i wasn't in love with the cookies, but maybe i'd like another dough better.

after relaxing in baked for a while with our cookies we all parted ways and headed home. it was a little bit stressful hosting my first meet at first, but it ended up being so much fun and i didnt feel any pressure at all to organize it. it was a blast, and i had so much fun walking around b-town with my lovely lolita friends! i can't wait for next month's meetup~ ☆ i miss everyone already.

Adventures in St. Louis

hi everyone! a couple weeks ago i went to the delmar loop in st. louis on a trip to see they might be giants. they have been touring and promoting their new album called nanobots that i think you should probably get! i talked about it in my favorite things for spring, but i'm going to keep promoting it because i think it is an excellent album.

we stayed at the moonrise hotel, which is right next door to the pageant, the venue where tmbg was playing. it's a beautiful and super cool hotel! it's all moon themed, complete with a rotating moon on the roof. everything is outfitted with tons of space-related memorabilia. in the hotel restaurant, there are tons of weird gadgets, art of ray guns, and collections of spaceship toys, limited moon-themed barbies, and tons more. in the hotel, there are rainbow lights and a cool chihuly chandelier! there
s a lot of apollo and moon-related stuff in glass displays. there are a lot of cool chairs, and i sat in each one on the ground floor.

there are lots of cute shops and restaurants on the loop, including star clipper, an awesome comic book shop; pizza pi, a favorite of barack obama's; cute vintage stores, many different thai restaurants, a movie theatre, and tons more.

you can't see very well, but the inside of this blue fin sushi restaurant had megaman decorations on the wall!

all the shops and restaurants are a short walking distance from each other and the hotel, and they're all really interesting! i saw this adorable dress at a formal clothing store and wanted to get it, it's SO CUTE.

the evening we arrived, we ate at fitz's, a restaurant that also makes and bottles soda.

 its sodas are offered in all the restaurants on the loop and are really delicious!

my mom and i both tried black cherry soda with our food.

 

of course, because of their soda crafting, they offer a huge variety of massive soda floats!! i love any kind of soda float and i eat coffee ice cream with dr. pepper on it as a regular dessert  so i was really excited to try one!

i got this one because it was called the "raspberry beret" and i love that song. it was chocolate and vanilla ice cream over "hip hop pop", a mixed berry soda.

my dad and brother got a float filled with nutella in the middle!! it looked delicious, but also rich.

they have some arcade machines as well! i bought a couple of songs on the jukebox, but they turned it down so low i could barely hear it after the first song. i dont even know why!! that really disappointed me. but everything else about the trip to fitz's was good.

 

the next day we got wristbands for early entry into the concert and went to the signing to meet tmbg! here was the outfit i wore:

speaking of handmade bracelets, i made a bracelet for flans in addition to bringing them a senor coconut record!

i had talked to him on tumblr and asked if he wanted to be my bff. he said yes and so now we have matching bracelets, obv. the greatest thing was that at the concert, he made a joke specifically showing the bracelet and then i heard he kept wearing it to the next show! i can't believe it. he is so nice and this totally made my trip, and i'm so happy he liked it.

they were seriously the nicest guys. i've met a lot of bands in my time and i have to say tmbg is seriously one of the nicest i've met so far. flans and i think marty were handing out stickers after the show too, and flans gave my mom and i like 8-15 bumper stickers each! linell was really nice too and acted jealous that we were in the moonrise so mom said "you can sleep on our floor."

i met marty and danny last time i saw tmbg, so i still haven't met dan miller, but it was nice to see him perform this time! he is a killer guitarist, for real.

the concert was so good. i loved their set list and their energy and jokes are so awesome as always. if you can ever go see tmbg, go!!

i had so much fun going to st. louis again. i got to go to star clipper the day after the concert, too, which i'll make a separate post about. ♡

so i had a great spring break! i hope you guys had a fun one too. did you do any cool stuff on spring break??
